The EISRE Award in Nursing went to Dr. Kamalini Kumar, now retired. Her career spanned nearly five decades and three continents and transformed nursing education and practice by championing spiritual care as a vital aspect of healing. Her deep commitment to mentorship, faith, and global service continues to influence nursing communities around the world. In addition to her CMC Nursing Degree, she has a PhD degree in Educational Psychology from the University of Iowa.
Dr. Preethy Samuel received the EISRE Award in Allied Health Sciences. Dr. Samuel is an Associate Professor at Wayne State University in Detroit and a global voice in occupational therapy and disability advocacy. She holds a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy degree from CMC and a PhD in Sociology from Wayne State. Her research on Family Quality of Life and her mentoring of future clinicians exemplify CMC’s core values in action.
