CMC Vellore Honors the Scudders

While Dr. Ida Scudder is revered in India for her founding of CMC Vellore, her uncle, Dr. Silas Scudder, was treating patients in Ranipet long before she was born.

This portion of the March 27 edition of the CMC Vellore newsletter chronicles the dedication of the memorial plaque honoring the achievements of Dr. Silas and other Scudders at Scudder Memorial Hospital from 1866 to 1954.

Sue’s Loss—And Ours

The Foundation is saddened to report the passing of former Scudder Association President “Caddy” Swanson at the age of 87. He headed the association from 1974 to 1977 and was the husband of current SAF president Sue Swanson for 63 years.
