THE 14TH ANNUAL DR. IDA S. SCUDDER HUMANITARIAN ORATION

The Christian Medical College Vellore (CMC) and the Vellore CMC Foundation are delighted to invite you to the 14th Annual Dr. Ida S. Scudder Humanitarian Oration, an event that celebrates compassion, service, and the enduring legacy of Dr. Ida Sophia Scudder.

This year, we are honored to recognize Dr. Ravi Kannan, a distinguished surgical oncologist whose life’s work has transformed cancer care in one of India’s most underserved regions. Formerly Head of the Department of Surgical Oncology at the Adyar Cancer Institute in Chennai, Dr. Kannan made the extraordinary decision to leave behind a successful career and relocate with his family to Cachar Cancer Hospital & Research Centre in Silchar, Assam. There, he has led with compassion and innovation, ensuring that thousands of marginalized patients receive not only life-saving treatment but also dignity and hope.
