Walter Scudder IV, a student at Eastern Connecticut University and a Scudder Association Foundation scholarship winner, returned home in mid-January from a memorable trip to Scudder-supported facilities in India. He is the great-great-grandson of Reverend Walter Scudder who founded Walter Scudder High School. Here’s his account of the visit.
“It is still like a dream that came and went—something beyond our wildest imaginations.” So wrote Dr. Sam Raj in an email to Scudder Association Foundation Board member Jack Gillmar.
From the city Ranipet, South India, Dr. Anbu Suresh and the staff of Scudder Memorial Hospital says “Merry Christmas” and best wishes to Scudders around the world.
Christmas, surrounded by warmth, love, hope, and laughter, let us not forget those whose lives are clouded with darkness and despair. In the Holy lands of Israel and Palestine, where our Savior once walked, countless innocent children are caught and lost their precious life and future in the crossfire of conflict, enduring terrifying circumstances that no child should ever have to face.
The great work of the Scudder family and the Scudder Association Foundation in India continues to draw praise and gratitude.
